On behalf of donor companies in the DonationMatch network, the following will be verified when you create a nonprofit profile:

• Federal Exempt Status: Organizations must be recognized as Exempt by the IRS (U.S.) or as a Registered Charity/Qualified Donee by the Canada Revenue Agency (Canada) to receive donations through DonationMatch. Documentation will be requested if this cannot be verified through federal data or websites.

• Good Standing with Applicable State Agencies: By law, an organization’s charity registration must be in “good standing” in specific states such as California to receive donations through donation platforms. Documentation will be requested if this cannot be verified through agency data.

• Your Role: Your authority to solicit donations using an organization’s EIN or BN will be verified. If your email address does not match the organization’s website URL, please provide in the “Organization Email” field a staff email address that matches the nonprofit website OR one that can be found there to authorize you.

• Website: A live website belonging to your organization is required for donors to research your organization’s events, programs, marketing, and leadership when making decisions. A Facebook page or listing in a third-party directory is NOT sufficient.
